Alternate Solution I have a client in a dell only enviroment that had this same error. I think I am going to not update my sound drivers. I am pretty sure a system restore to the last point before the driver uninstall will fix the issue. I am sure it is a driver issue but i have no way to fix it without at least being in safe mode. I was able to remove all traces of the failed uninstall form the registry and delete the drivers after extracting the driver package and searching them out on my Netbook.

The driver install software forces you to uninstall the previous driver, reboot, install the new driver. I have a client in a dell only enviroment that had this same error. I am almost certain it is the Realtek uninstall, vaio pcg-5k2m to fix that I need to get to system restore. I am almost certain that the issue is with the uninstall of my Realtek ALC driver.
Last known good gives me the same BSOD.

Welcome to Windows 7 Forums. This issue vaio pcg-5k2m fixed. I have a very similar problem with another machine and would like to try this. If the machine still vaio pcg-5k2m not boot then it is most likely not the sound because it is disabled.
